10,000 Hours of Riding Experience
Celebrating 20 Years in the Saddle
2010 World Champion Tricia Aldridge

By the age of five she could ride a horse by herself, and she received her first pony
when she was six at the end of her kindergarten year.

Living on a farm in Tennessee for seven years, she had unlimited riding time.  Her
father, Mike Aldridge was an Animal Care Specialist for the U.S. Army Horse
Cavalry at Fort Hood, Texas, as well as a instructor and trainer.  He currently
teaches equitation in Cedar Hill, TX.

She attended over 100 horse shows including the Tennessee State Show and she
has won multiple awards and ribbons.

By age 12 she already had over 3,000 hours of riding experience, was on her fourth
horse and had already had experience riding dozens more!

Tricia has attended and ridden in many clinics including 4-H, reining, Monty
Roberts, Martha Josey, Lynn McKenzie and Ed Wright.

She has assisted Dr. Britt Clark, DVM all day in surgery at a large equine
veterinarian facility near Gatesville, Texas and she spent a week with a large
breeder in Tennessee when she went back to visit during spring break.

She has ridden English, Western, and Saddle Seat, but her focus is on play days
and barrel racing.

Tricia has hired many great trainers to train her horses personally one on one
including Barrel Racing Trainer Zach Thompson, Reining Training with the late
Gerald "Jerry" Ellis of Ellis Performance Horses, Cutting Trainer Bill Phelps,
Dressage Trainer Jim Eldridge of Noble Champion Sport Horses and most recently
reining training with Tom McCutcheon .

In 2009 Tricia purchased a greenbroke Thoroughbred gelding off the racetrack and
trained him for eventing.  She showed him at Greenwood Farms in Weatherford,
Texas at their National Fall Horse Trials and placed in the top ten of her class.  Her
horse was the youngest horse in the class by ten years!

Currently Tricia is showing and training her own horses in barrel racing futurities.
